Entry Requirements: A minimum of a grade 6 in five subjects at GCSE, including a grade 8 in Maths.

Must be taken alongside Maths A-level.

What will I study?

Your course is split into 2 main sections.

Core Pure 1: Expands your algebraic foundation by introducing abstract and powerful concepts such as complex numbers, matrices, and advanced proof techniques that underpin higher-level mathematics.

Decision 1 (D1): Explores algorithms, network optimization, linear programming, and computational logic, focusing on how to solve complex real-world logistical problems efficiently.

Core Pure 2: Deepens your mastery of calculus, differential equations, polar coordinates, and hyperbolic functions, tackling advanced theoretical problems.

Further Mechanics 1 (FM1): Applies rigorous mathematical principles to physical systems, exploring momentum, collisions, work, energy, and power.

What skills will I gain and where will this take me?

Skills involve Analytical skills, data analysis, problem-solving, and logical reasoning, Future Pathways associated with this A level include taking Mathematics into further education. Also linking to a variety of engineering degrees as well as Finance and even some sciences relating towards research.
