16 – 19 Tuition Fund

16-19 Tuition Fund Statement of Intent

We have received funding from the government to help to support students in post-16 education who have been impacted by the lockdown and had their learning disrupted this year.

We are using the funding this academic year 2020-21.

As with the government guidelines, we are using this funding for students who did not reach a 5 at GCSE in English or Maths and are now studying A Level or BTEC subjects. The funding is being used for targeted support classes for the students who did not reach 5s at GCSE, as well as supporting their current studies and Maths and English resits.

We have selected students based on their achievement so far in their A Level and BTEC courses.

The funding is being used on Tuition Support on the following:

  • Small bespoke group or 1-2-1 sessions with a specialist teacher or tutor
  • English and Maths resit support sessions
  • Academic Literacy sessions
  • Academic study skills sessions

Evidence will be kept of student attendance at the sessions and the progress they are making in light of this support.
