Ancient History
Studying Ancient History at Bow Sixth Form
Exam Board: OCR
Entry Requirements: A minimum of a Grade 6 in a Humanities GCSE and a 6 in GCSE English Language, in addition to five 5-9 grades.
Why study this course?
Ancient History is a study of the Ancient Greek and Roman Civilizations. We explore their ideas, beliefs, cultures and religions. We also discover the key personalities, heroes and anti-heroes and events of the Ancient World. We’ll discover the impact that the philosophy and politics of the great thinkers of Rome and Greece have had on the modern world.
This course is a natural progression from GCSE Ancient History, but having taken the GCSE is not essential. It is great preparation for a range of Classics Degrees at the best Russell Universities and beyond. It fits hand in glove with Philosophy, Law, Politics, English Literature, Drama and all Humanities Degrees. It is a course highly regarded by employers and Universities.
