You will explore how individuals, businesses and governments make decisions, from how prices are determined to the way economies respond to challenges such as inflation and unemployment. If you are someone who has a sense of
curiosity for how the world works, economics may be the subject for you.
What will I study?
In Economics, you will explore how markets work, how governments manage the economy, and how global issues shape our world. You’ll learn how supply, demand and prices interact, how firms make decisions and compete, and how they employ workers. You’ll understand taxation, government spending and economic policies, as well as inflation, unemployment and economic growth. You’ll explore international trade, globalisation and exchange rates, and understand why markets sometimes may not work effectively. You’ll also learn to interpret graphs, statistics and economic information, while developing skills in applying theories, building arguments and evaluating economic issues.
