Study Psychology at Bow Sixth Form

Exam Board:

Entry Requirements: A minimum of a grade 6 in English Language GCSE and grade 6 in Maths GCSE In addition to five grades 5-9 in other GCSE subjects.

Why study this course?

Have you ever thought why we act in the way we do, why we might get angry, why we remember some things better than others or why we fall in love?

Psychology is the study of this type of behaviour and others, covering aspectssuch as learning, memory, emotions, motivation, sleep and mental illness.Students should expect to develop and refine their scientific knowledge aswell as embrace the practical side of Psychology, where questions, debatesand discussions help form explanations for a range of psychological phenomena.

Assessment 

  • Paper 1: Foundations in psychology (35%)
  • Paper 2: Applications of psychology (35%)
  • Paper 3: Psychological skills (30%)

Note: All assessed at the end of Year 13.
